RSS Swayamsevak Approaches Court Against Objectionable Remarks by Badrinarayan Tiwari

MUMBAI, 14 DECEMBER, 2024 (APN):
A swayamsevak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has approached the court seeking contempt notice and strict action against senior official Badrinarayan Tiwari for allegedly using objectionable language against the RSS and Hindutva. On December 5, in the Mumbai Civil Court, Pritesh Shivram Mishra filed a petition against Badrinarayan Tiwari, the Vice Chancellor of GB Pant College, Prayagraj. The petition seeks action under Sections 233 and 356 (1) (2) of the Indian Penal Code. Notably, a video available on social media platform YouTube, purportedly from 2016, shows Tiwari speaking against the RSS during an event organized by JNUTA (Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers’ Association) at JNU, with students as the audience. Tiwari has previously been accused of using objectionable language against Hindutva and the RSS, often attempting to incite rebellion within the Hindu community by exploiting caste issues. Pritesh Mishra alleged that Tiwari has been instigating students during college gatherings to accuse the RSS of promoting casteism, which is entirely baseless. He emphasized that the RSS does not operate on any caste-based agenda. On the contrary, the RSS works towards unity by visiting homes of Dalits and Scheduled Castes, addressing their concerns, and providing solutions. He highlighted the initiatives of RSS leader Babasaheb Deoras, who personally visited Dalit settlements to promote harmony. Despite these efforts, Badrinarayan Tiwari continues to malign the RSS by leveling accusations and using disrespectful language against Hindus in various forums. Mishra has demanded strict legal action against Tiwari for his conduct. According to the petition, Tiwari has a history of making inflammatory remarks against Hindutva, accusing the RSS of dividing society along caste lines. Mishra further claimed that Tiwari’s actions aim to provoke students against the organization, which is contrary to the values the RSS stands for. He noted that the RSS has long been working towards uplifting marginalized sections of society and fostering social harmony, particularly through initiatives such as the “Samrasata Abhiyan” (Harmony Campaign) led by Babasaheb Deoras. The petitioner stated that Tiwari’s repeated use of derogatory language and baseless allegations not only tarnishes the image of the RSS but also incites communal disharmony. He urged the court to take strict action against Tiwari to prevent such instances in the future. The petition also includes demands for a thorough investigation into Tiwari’s activities and his motives behind making such controversial statements.
